Dr. Surekha Kishore, Executive Director of AIIMS Gorakhpur, joined on June 1, 2020. His tenure was for five years, but within a year, the bugle of rebellion started ringing against him. Complaints about irregularities were being made for the last two years. Dr. Surekha Kishore’s work as Executive Director of AIIMS was terminated even before she completed five years.
Not only was a section of doctors and employees in AIIMS opposed, but people of the governing body of AIIMS were also dissatisfied. CVC (Central Vigilance Commission) recorded the statements of 15 witnesses in its investigation report and collected strong evidence as evidence. After this, after giving 15 days time, a reply was sought from Dr. Surekha Kishore.
The first protest was against the selection of a doctor from Uttarakhand. It was alleged that the said doctor created a place in the merit list by submitting fake certificates. That too is under investigation. The executive director of AIIMS was embroiled in this matter also. The complaint regarding the matter reached Delhi. It was from here that a group of doctors distanced themselves from him and complained about irregularities.
